UK Awards is in the process of producing support material which will present the grammar, vocabulary, listening and speaking topics in a detailed and graded format. This support material will clearly demarcate the complexity of each topic that a learner is expected to internalize at a certain level. The gradation will adhere to the CEFR guidelines. We expect this support material to be ready by the end of 2020.

The support material being produced will also contain a compilation of resources which may be used to teach/learn the topics listed in the curricula. Until this support material is ready, students and teachers may consult reliable authorities on English language to facilitate the learning process. Oxford dictionaries are world renowned for providing accurate and contemporary meanings and usages of words and idioms. Teachers may refer to grammar handbooks published by Oxford University Press to explain grammar concepts in class.

Certificates issued by UK Awards testify that the holder is proficient in English by international standards. Therefore, all support material is being carefully crafted to employ only standard British English. The aim is to familiarize students with English in the international context, and therefore the learning and teaching material is being prepared in the same vein. Colloquialisms are being strictly avoided.

Yes, it is important to us that all UK Awards qualifications offer progression to Higher education and/ or employment. We work with international universities and employer representative bodies to ensure that all qualification meet their needs.

Our online systems should provide significant time savings in assessment practice. We provide free tools to support good learning practice. Our aim is to eradicate as much of the bureaucratic overhead as possible while supporting good assessment for learning practice that leads to accredited qualifications. This will save time and money and improve the quality of learning.

We will support and recognise your own system for evidence gathering whether this is by physical or e-portfolio provided the assessment evidence can demonstrate that the learner has achieved the learning outcomes prescribed in the qualification specification.
