UK Awards Level 5 in Networking
The program is based on year 1 & 2 of a Computer Networking Degree program in that students are required to successfully complete 240 credit points. Year 1 courses are considered as level 4 and year 2 courses are considered as level 5. In designing the program, the UK Awards has embedded 240 credits into the whole program, without considering specialization pathways. These must include all modules in year 1, all modules in year 2
In preparing the specification, the institution has considered an appropriate balance between academic content and vocational skills. The program seeks to provide students with the body of knowledge traditionally associated with Networking Studies and to develop appropriate skills enabling students to apply such knowledge to realistic business situations.
The structure of Level 4 has been designed to provide a sound foundation in Networking studies, from which students entering Level 5 can make an informed decision as to which particular areas of technology interest them most.
The table below shows the whole framework of Units for Level 4 and 5 Networking and include their credit value.
